Strong interest for Holger Hetzel’s auction collection

As usual, Holger Hetzel’s 15th Sport Horse Sales on 27 November has attracted plenty of interest from Germany and abroad. The Hetzel home base in the Rhenish town of Goch has recently hosted many German and foreign visitors who travelled there to try out the 20 exceptional horses in this year’s auction collection that Holger and his team has sourced from owners and breeders throughout Europe over the past year.

The try-outs have all been stringently managed to ensure their appropriateness for the five to seven year old horses’ ages and training levels. Perhaps this special focus on good management, and ensuring that the youngsters are never asked too much, or the wrong questions, is the reason why there has been such a strong interest for these talented horses from potential customers in around 40 nations.

These customers also benefit from Holger Hetzel’s expert advice and support. His background as a Nations Cup rider, multiple German championship medal winner and top international trainer give him the know-how and expertise to assess which horse is right for a particular rider. Holger’s customers appreciate this competence, and many of the guests who have bought horses at the Sport Horse Sales over the years are regular customers.

Another aspect that makes this event special is that all the horses up for auction have impressive competition track records, including wins and high-scoring placings in young horse classes, at the German National Championships for Young Horses in Warendorf and at the F.E.I. World Breeding Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken, Belgium. Details and videos of the horses can be found at holger-hetzel.de.

The horses will be presented under the saddle for the last time during a brunch event on 24 November starting at 10 a.m. with the opportunity to try them out afterwards. Try-outs are also possible on the following days by arrangement. The Sport Horse Sales on 27 November kick off at 5 p.m. with the final presentation of the horses. The gala dinner starts at 7 p.m. and the auction of the 20 talented young horses begins at 9 p.m.
