After a successful 2018-season, with fully booked tours both for the Spring and Autumn MET, the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour returns this week with the first international competitions for 2019. A total of 750 horses and 195 riders from 30 different countries are expected for the first part of the Spring MET 2019, running from January 15-27 (MET I).

The second part of the Tour takes place from February 5-24 (MET II), the third part from March 12-31 (MET III) and finally the fourth and last part from April 9-21 (MET IV).

The Spring MET 2019 offers CSIYH, CSI1*, CSI2* and CSI3* classes, three world ranking classes per week of competition and a total of 1.477.000 Euro in prize money as well as prizes in kind.

„We are delighted to yet again welcome a world-class field of riders to the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour,“ says Bettina Pöhls, MET Event Director. „That riders of this caliber return year after year to our venue here in Oliva Nova is a confirmation for the entire organising team, and we will all work hard to deliver our best MET-edition yet!“

As announced straight after the Autumn MET 2018, the event organisers in Oliva Nova have decided to change the footing in the main ring to a brand new all-weather surface from Klaus Dammann with a Risohorse® ebb and flow system covering 140 by 80 meters. „The ring is looking great, and we look forward to be able to offer the best possible conditions in any kind of weather to the world class horses competing at the MET,” says Bettina Pöhls – who, together with her team is ready to welcome all competitors to Oliva Nova.
