Wellington, FL — Michael Klimke and his mount Royal Dancer danced their way to a spectacular first place victory in the CDI3* Grand Prix during Week One of the Adequan ® Global Dressage Festival held in Wellington, Florida. Crossing the fine line between a good and great performance, the pair scored a 68.435 in the test. “I was very happy with this first start of the season,” Klimke smiles, “It was a very good day for me today!”
Klimke, who is here from Münster, Germany, is the son of world renowned Olympic gold medalist and trainer, Dr. Reiner Klimke, is in his fifth year of riding in the Florida Winter circuit, and has been a member of Team Harmony Sport Horses, with Leslie and John Malone, for the past decade. “We have a big team and a good team, and it’s a lot of fun!” Klimke says about the experience so far. His horse, Royal Dancer is a 13-year-old Hanoverian gelding and is one of many on the team. Klimke also dominated the small tour with a trifecta winning the Prix St Georges, the Intermediaire I and the I-1 Freestyle with Harmony’s Diablo.
