Loxahatchee, FL. The 11-year old approved KWPN stallion Dark Pleasure (Ufo-Jazz- Ferro ) has been secured for breeding and competition to the United States. Katie Hoog who owns and operates Stal Hoog out of Loxahatchee, Florida purchased the Dark Pleasure in partnership with Sarah White and CUatX Tack, and will offer him both fresh and frozen to US breeders. Hoog was impressed by the stallion’s correct conformation, remarkable rideability, and excellent temperament.
“I was first smitten with his (Dark Pleasure’s) talent and international quality movement, but it was his temperament and willing disposition that really clinched the deal,” said Hoog. „International Grand Prix rider Caroline Roffman trained Dark Pleasure at her stable in Wellington with the intention of completing the training he had up to the Grand Prix Level. Caroline had suggested I try him. The first time I rode him I realized how special he was and I knew I had to have him. I believe he will be a true asset to the sporthorse breeding program in the United States. To be able to offer a stallion that produces both top quality riding horses with excellent temperaments is exciting,” Hoog, who trains with Grand Prix trainer and USEF Judge Amy Speck-Kern, added..
Bred by Wouter Plaizier in The Netherlands, Dark Pleasure is by Ufo out of Wild Pleasure (by Jazz). Dark Pleasure has sired one approved son to date, It’s a Pleasure (Dark Pleasure X Blue Horse Zack), and a second stallion son, Kaiman (Dark Pleasure X Gribaldi) who has been selected for the 70-day test.
