Foreigner contestants very fond of Herning

Among the World Cup participants in dressage one comes across several big international names such as German Benjamin Werndl and his 15-year old gelding who are both familiar the excellent facilities in Herning as they competed here last year. The Spanish Olympic rider Severo Jurado López, employed by Helgstrand Dressage, will participate with his only 9-year old Danish Warmblood mare Fiontini – a rider and horse combination that has been victorious three times at the world championships for young horses for 5-, 6- og 7-year-olds.
Third best combination in last year’s World Cup finals, German Helen Langehanenberg and the 17-year old stallion Damsey FRH are also to be found on the starters list which counts 22 combinations. She will be accompanied by top riders such as the Dutch Olympians, Hans Peter Minderhoud and Adelinde Cornelissen.
In showjumping the spectators can look forward to watching several international profiles such as former European champions, Swedish Rolf-Göran Bengtsson and German Marco Kutscher, who have both participated in Herning previously.
Riders from 20 nations are gathered by World Cup Herning to compete in both showjumping and dressage in the impressive event hall ”Boxen”.
The home crowd will look forward to cheering on their national favourites, Cathrine Dufour and Daniel Bachmann Andersen, both in the top ten of the Longines FEI ranking. Daniel is prepared to defend his victory from Longines FEI World Cup i Herning last year aboard the charming breeding stallion Blue Hors Zack.
