After this we get to the video analysis of the flow of movement of two to three participating horses (analyses of not-participating horses are possible but are subject to separate costing). For this the horses are lunged with a cavesson in our roundpen. follows subsequently.

Afternoon :
Assessment of all other participating horses and evaluation of shoeing and saddle and tack fit.

First longing of all participating horses to evaluate the status quo for the buildup of the next days. Participants who already took part in clinics or have had their horses in the centre, will work under the saddle.

2. Analysis:

After the lecture the assessment of the analysis horses follows. We start with an assessment of the standing horse, then an inspection of the shoeing and equipment and finally we move on to the fit of the saddle (possibly in the presence of our saddler).

After this we get to the video analysis of the flow of movement. For this the horses are lunged with a cavesson in our roundpen.

Subsequent discussion of the video analysis with suggestions for further training.

Since 25 years the Centre for ARR practices the

2 – Phase – Training

for horses. Even though the straightening with system has been conducted successfully the goal of this basic work has always been a continuous improvement.

In the foreground was (and still is) the ambition to qualify for the transfer into the saddle as well as to stabilize the elements of the anatomical demands.

We have based our training methods on the (nowadays widely lost) element of training that has been developed and used in the traditional horsemanship. This element involves the preparation of the horses on the ground up to the point where the horses were able to carry themselves. Only then the training under the saddle was started. This method has its root in the knowledge that the biomechanics of a flight animal – and a horse is and will always stay one – differs from the biomechanics of an athletic riding horse.

With Martin Hänni, trainer in the Swiss Horse-riding School (Bereiter FN), joining our team, we moved the ARR® 2 – Phase – Training of the riding horse into the next dimension whereas the goal of the ARR® Training system stays the same:

To give new impulses towards improving rideability and really achieving rhythm, impulsion and suppleness. Having an experienced trainer in our team makes it possible for us to show what differences can be achieved under the saddle and assist participants in their and their horse’s further development.
