Pieter Devon claims victory in Longines Cup of the City of Barcelona

The last jumping competition of the weekend in Barcelona has ended with a win of Belgian rider Pieter Devos on his Zangersheide mare Claire Z. With a great time in the second round he placed first before french rider and world’s number four Kevin Staut on board of the 11-year-old Selle Français stallion Silver Deux de Virton HDC. Third became Canadian jumping star Eric Lamaze the Chacco Blue-son Cacco Kid.

The first round wasn’t the fastest of Belgian’s Devos. He took it slow on Claire Z, thoughtful cautious to keep a clean vest. his time ended to be 83.81 seconds. Eric Lamaze running kind of the same technique in this round but earned a time fault. Kevin Staut took more risk into his ride keeping hold on his clear in 77.62 seconds. Staut just couldn’t take this quickness into his second round where he lost more than a second on Devos’ time who went All In during Round two.

Eric Lamaze needed too long to overcome the obstacles clear taking two time faults into his account, but still ending up in third position.

Ireland’s Bertram Allen and his great mare Molly Malone V claimed the fourth position in an Irish-quick 49.43 seconds dropping one rail long the ride, though.

The Brazilian’s run big in Barcelona aswell. Tonight Pedro Veniss secured fifth place on Quabri de l’Isle after Eduardo Menezes and Caruschka 2 took Friday’s La Vanguard Trophy and Yuri Manzur finishing first aswell with Inferno in tonight’s Negrita Cup.
