Grand Champions Polo Club will host the inaugural United Kingdom vs. USA juniors international game Tuesday at 4 p.m.

The nine-year-old club has hosted three major international adult matches pitting Team USA against England men’s and women’s teams in 2012 and Chile in 2013, but this will be the first time an international juniors game will be held at the nation’s fastest growing polo club.

The four-chukker game is an exchange program joint effort by the Polo Training Foundation and Hurlingham Polo Association.

The U.S. roster is Riley Ganzi, Grant Braden, Nicolas Escobar and Joaquin Avendano.

The UK lineup is Marcus Cork, Charlie Townsend, Hugh Taylor and Thomas Coid.

“I know that this will be a lot of fun for all of the kids involved,” said tournament organizer Jennifer McLeavy of the Polo Training Foundation.

The UK players have been acclimating to the horses, venues and climate this past week. They played an arena game on Saturday morning at the Grand Champions Polo Club Polo West Arena and Monday during the Avendano Memorial Juniors Tournament.

The players also got a chance to watch the Outback 40-Game Challenge on Saturday along with the Ylvisaker Cup quarterfinal game between Las Monjitas featuring brothers Miguel and Alejandro Astrada, and Villa del Lago/Casablanca on Sunday.

Local polo families are mounting the UK team. Marc and Melissa Ganzi are providing horses and hosting Taylor and Coid. The Escobar family is mounting Cork and Avendano family is mounting Townsend.
