A few days before the Olympics the world champion Philippe Le Jeune from Belgium received the title ‘Commandeur de l’Ordre de Léopold’ (= Commander of the Order of Leopold). This was a big surprise for the 52-year-old rider. He was very excited when he received the phone call informing him that he is going to be knighted. “I am very fond of Belgium and to be honoured really means a lot to me”, he said.
